In Loving Memory of JT Schroeder
The world lost a beautiful soul far too soon. JT Schroeder, just 18 years old, left us with hearts forever changed.
JT loved people deeply and had a smile that could light up any room. His heart was so big that he had countless friends, each one feeling like they were his favorite. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and included, whether you were a lifelong friend or someone he’d just met. Even in death he chose to help others by being an organ donor, giving the gift of life to seven families.
He dreamed of becoming a Merchant Marine, already lined up with a sponsorship and ready to set sail. He was determined, hardworking, and filled with excitement for the life ahead.
JT was, proudly, a mama’s boy. He called his mom, Rachel, at least three times a day—no matter where he was or what he was doing. His friends might have teased him, but JT didn’t care. His mama was his home, his safe place, and his biggest fan. He loved her cooking and was always happiest when one of her meals was waiting for him.
He was also a protective big brother to Layton, his “baby brother,” and a partner-in-fun to his stepbrother, Ashton. The three of them—JT, Layton, and Ashton—were always up to something, usually led by JT’s mischievous sense of adventure. They shared endless memories, from exploring the outdoors to staying up late talking about life and laughter.
On a recent trip to Marco Island with his mom, JT snuck Layton out one night, and the two walked the beach for hours—talking about life, what to stay away from, and their next adventure. It was a moment of pure brotherhood, love, and reflection—one that will be cherished forever.
JT shared a special connection with his dad, spending time on the boat together and talking about everything, especially the ladies—and which ones to stay away from. Their love ran deep and true.
JT shared a bond with his stepfather, Noah, who had been in his life for many years. Noah loved JT deeply, guiding him, helping him with school, and always being there when JT needed him. Together with his brothers, they shared countless laughs, adventures, and late-night talks.
JT lived life with a rare and radiant light. He loved deeply, laughed easily, and left an imprint on every heart that knew him. His kindness, humor, and love for his family and friends will forever echo in the lives he touched.
He was, and always will be, his mama’s boy.
